Philadelphia-based death metal outfit ACCURSED WOMB have raised anticipation for their upcoming special compilation "Hymns of Blasphemous Fornication" with the release of their new track ‘Womb of the Ibex’. Set for release on August 21st via Nespithe Records, the album-length collection gathers the band’s recordings from 2022 onward.

Formed in 2019, ACCURSED WOMB quickly began drawing attention with their unsettling atmospheres, sharp-edged guitar work, and approach that explores the more experimental side of death metal. Originally starting out as a three-piece, the band expanded their lineup over time and developed a denser, more destructive sound.

"Hymns of Blasphemous Fornication" is a comprehensive release featuring the band’s previously released EPs "Crown of Piss" and "Prison Coward", alongside their 2023 and 2026 demos. Spanning 12 tracks and nearly 50 minutes, the collection documents ACCURSED WOMB’s evolution from their experimental death/doom roots into a harsher, more refined, and crushing death metal force.

The newly released ‘Womb of the Ibex’ stands among the tracks that reflect the band’s dark and chaotic universe. The collection also includes songs such as ‘Invocation of the Necrovat’, offering glimpses into the direction ACCURSED WOMB may pursue in the future. The band combines influences from acts such as INCANTATION, MORBID ANGEL, TIMEGHOUL, and more recent BLOOD INCANTATION with their own strange, dark approach that occasionally incorporates black metal elements.

"Hymns of Blasphemous Fornication" serves as a milestone ahead of the band’s yet-to-be-released debut full-length album. The collection not only documents ACCURSED WOMB’s journey so far but also demonstrates the band’s ambition to establish their presence within the extreme metal scene.
