Canadian blackened death metal duo ARKTHEOS’ debut full-length, "Cosmolith", has been reissued by Hypaethral Records on LP and CD. The album originally appeared digitally in the summer of 2025 as the band’s first studio release.

ARKTHEOS was founded in 2015 by guitarist and vocalist D. Ibson. Having previously worked within the melodic black metal sphere, Ibson sought to take the new project in a direction built around heavier riffing, punishing rhythms, and a deeper exploration of nature and spirituality. The band’s musical identity took shape with the addition of T. Pill on drums and synths.

The duo released its first demo in late 2023, followed by "Cosmolith", which arrived digitally in the summer of 2025. Combining the intensity of death metal and black metal, the album explores themes including nature, the mysteries of the cosmos, ancient gods, and humanity’s position in the face of infinity. Psychedelic elements are also prominent in ARKTHEOS’ sound.

"Cosmolith" was recorded by ARKTHEOS at Black Hall, with Roland Rodas handling the mastering at Cavern of Echoes. The cover artwork was created by Adam Burke.

The album’s physical editions are available in limited quantities. The LP edition is limited to 200 copies in Meteorite format, while the CD version is limited to 200 copies and comes housed in a four-panel digipak.
