Atomic Aggressor Returns with New Album “The Occult Forces”
New Album "The Occult Forces"
Chilean death metal pioneers Atomic Aggressor have completed preparations for their long-awaited second studio album, “The Occult Forces.” The band has announced that the new record will be released on August 28 in CD, vinyl, and cassette formats, while also unveiling the new track “The Chalice of Despair” from the album.
Playing a significant role in shaping Chile’s death metal scene in the late 1980s, Atomic Aggressor stands out as one of the bands that have preserved their dark and savage musical identity throughout the years. The band established a strong reputation within the South American extreme metal scene, particularly through their influential 1989 demo “Bloody Ceremonial” and the 1991 follow-up demo “Resurrection.”
After disbanding following their early years, the band reunited in 2007 and proved that their old fire was still burning by appearing at major festivals across Chile. Continuing under the leadership of founding members Alejandro Díaz on vocals/bass and Enrique Zúñiga on guitar, Atomic Aggressor also drew attention with their 2013 split 7” release with Death Yell.
Following this return, the band released their debut album “Sights of Suffering” in 2014. The record combined the band’s aggressive 1980s deathrash character with modern production standards and received positive reactions from a wide audience. Atomic Aggressor continued to keep the spirit of old-school death metal alive with their 2019 EP “Invoking the Primal Chaos,” maintaining the dark atmosphere that has defined their sound.
Arriving after a seven-year gap, “The Occult Forces” represents a new chapter for the band without abandoning their roots. The album combines Atomic Aggressor’s trademark ferocious death metal approach with sharper guitar work, dense atmospheres, and more controlled yet still menacing solos. Rather than simply recreating nostalgia for the past, the band successfully carries the spirit of 1980s South American extreme metal into the present day.

Consisting of eight tracks and running for approximately 40 minutes, “The Occult Forces” once again showcases the band’s enduring musical identity. The album’s tracklist is as follows:
Souls Degradation
Forms From The Occult
The Chalice Of Despair
Evil From Beneath
Dwellers Of The Unknown
Divided To Conceived
As I Descend
Tormenting Voices

Atomic Aggressor’s new track “The Chalice of Despair” is available to stream through the band’s official channels. “The Occult Forces” will be released on August 28 via Hells Headbangers in CD, vinyl, and cassette formats.
