BESOTTEN Set to Enter the Death/Doom Metal Realm with Debut Album "Eye of the Monolithicrypt"
BESOTTEN Announce Debut Album
US death/doom metal band BESOTTEN are preparing to expand their discography with their debut full-length album, "Eye of the Monolithicrypt." Following the release of a demo and a split, the band bring together the heavy and dark character of death metal and doom metal in a balanced framework on the album they have spent the past few years working on.
"Eye of the Monolithicrypt" consists of five tracks in total. Alongside shorter compositions, the album also features pieces exceeding the ten-minute mark, with each track retaining its own identity while contributing to a cohesive overall sound. BESOTTEN's approach combines dense, weighty riffs with doom metal's slower, more oppressive atmosphere, while more defined structures and detailed arrangements come to the fore in the songwriting.
The band's lineup features Andy Osborn on drums, Patrick Sinn-Movilla on guitars and synths, and Garth Purkett on vocals and bass.
The album's mixing, mastering, and guitar/vocal engineering were handled by Leon Del Muerte. Also known for his work with IMPALED and TERRORIZER, Del Muerte contributed to the production process, while drum engineering was handled by Charlie Koryn, who has performed with VOIDCEREMONY, ASCENDED DEAD, and MORBID ANGEL's live lineup.
The artwork, LP logo, and title design for "Eye of the Monolithicrypt" were created by Serus of CANCER VOID.
BESOTTEN's music sits firmly within the death/doom metal tradition and should appeal to listeners of WORM, DISEMBOWELMENT, HOODED MENACE, ABYSSAL RIFT, and UNDERGANG.
