BLASPHEMANIAC Returns with “Ataque Diabólico a Sacralidade Brasileira”

Brazilian black/death metal band BLASPHEMANIAC return with their second studio album, “Ataque Diabólico a Sacralidade Brasileira”, following their 2021 debut full-length. The album will be released internationally on CD via Adirondack Black Mass on November 25.
For more than a decade, BLASPHEMANIAC have pursued one of black metal’s more primitive and aggressive strains, and their new album brings together elements of black, death, thrash, and speed metal. The band’s approach combines the raw violence of Brazilian underground pioneers such as VULCANO and SARCÓFAGO with the speed of SODOM and KREATOR, while the influence of VENOM, HELLHAMMER, and BATHORY remains among the album’s core reference points.
However, “Ataque Diabólico a Sacralidade Brasileira” is not simply a recreation of old-school metal. BLASPHEMANIAC place the raw character of analog recordings and the physicality of underground metal at the center of their approach, aiming for a sound that stands apart from contemporary production aesthetics. The album combines lyrics in English and Portuguese, while themes such as black magic, occultism, and necromancy are explored from a South American perspective.
This approach becomes particularly apparent in the band’s cultural references. Rather than building their anti-Christian rhetoric solely around traditional Western images of the Devil, BLASPHEMANIAC incorporate elements drawn from the historical and syncretic cultures of South America into their lyrical world.
The album’s first track, ‘Odioso Manifesto Anti o Monumentalismo Sacro abraâmico’, is already available to hear. The song can be streamed via Adirondack Black Mass’ Bandcamp page, where the album is also available for preorder.
