Polish death metal band BURNING CREATION are moving away from the melodic death metal and viking metal foundations of their early material in favour of a harsher, more old-school death metal approach on their upcoming album, "Breath of Fire". The album’s first single, ‘Nothing's Gonna Save You’, has also been released alongside an official lyric video.

Formed in Żywiec in 2022 by the Klimond brothers following the suspension of Haures, BURNING CREATION released their debut EP, "Never Dead Nation", in 2023. Their first full-length album, "Sea of Dead Bodies", subsequently paved the way for numerous live shows across Poland. With their new material, the band are pushing melodic death metal and viking metal elements into the background, developing a more direct, raw sound rooted in the traditions of the Swedish death metal scene.

While the influence of bands such as UNLEASHED, DARK TRANQUILLITY and HYPOCRISY can be heard in BURNING CREATION’s music, the band regard these references as part of their own approach, which combines classic death metal aggression with a dark atmosphere and epic storytelling.

The story of "Breath of Fire" continues the tale of warriors rising from their graves to exact revenge on humanity for abandoning its ancient beliefs and values. Having crossed a sea of dead bodies, the Undead Nation begins its final march to reduce civilisation to ashes. The album’s mythological backdrop draws on the final battle between Vidar and Fenrir in Norse mythology, the underwater realm of Ægir and Ran, and the land of eternal frost awaiting those who did not die in battle.

The album comprises eight tracks, including an atmospheric intro and seven new songs. The drums and bass were recorded at Sound Stone Studio in collaboration with Paweł Kurowski, while the electric guitars and vocals were recorded at Marek Stefaniak’s studio. Stefaniak also handled the mixing and mastering. The cover artwork was created by Damian Bydliński, whose previous credits include work with LUCIFER’S FRIEND and RIVERSIDE.

"Breath of Fire" will be released digitally and on CD through Via Nocturna on November 13, 2026. Pre-orders are available through the label’s official webstore.
