German black/death metal band CH’AHOM will release its second studio album, “Anthropic Rites Of Sublimation”, on September 18, 2026, via 20 Buck Spin. Continuing the narrative that began on the band’s “Ts’ono’ot” EP, the album is set in a fictional world inspired by the rituals, art, and architecture of pre-Hispanic cultures.

“Anthropic Rites Of Sublimation” is conceived as a concept album centered around a colossal cenote of unknown dimensions. Its cosmic call draws the lost and uncertain toward self-sacrifice, while four distinct civilizations emerge around the abyss. Each develops its own rituals, hierarchies, and monuments, turning the cenote’s fatal summons into one of the foundations of collective existence.

Musically, CH’AHOM combines a cavernous death metal approach with black metal influences, dense riffing, and compositions that open into progressive structures. The album also incorporates traditional instrumentation to reinforce the atmosphere of the cultural world created by the band.

At the thematic core of the album is the “death drive” and its sublimation, exploring humanity’s cultural response to the desire for self-erasure. Self-sacrifice, enslavement, willing surrender, and bodily destruction form part of the narrative as the foundations of societies awaiting the cenote’s periodic opening.

Recorded and mixed by CH’AHOM, the album was mastered by Dan Lowndes at Resonance Sound Studio. The cover art was created by Alexander Kavtea, while photography was handled by Schwarze Leere, illustrations by Giancarlo Melgar, and the lyric sheet by Veturlarum.

The album’s opening track, ‘Cult Of Xaman’, has been released as its first preview. The song offers the first musical glimpse into CH’AHOM’s new era ahead of the album’s September 18 release.

“Anthropic Rites Of Sublimation” will be released by 20 Buck Spin digitally, as well as on digipak CD and LP. The CD edition will include a foldout insert, while the LP edition will come with a double-sided 24 x 24-inch poster.
