German black-death metal band CH’AHOM have unveiled their new track 'Priests Of Lik’in' ahead of the release of their second studio album, “Anthropic Rites of Sublimation.” Due out on September 18, 2026 via 20 Buck Spin, the album expands the fictional universe introduced on the band’s previous “Ts’ono’ot” EP.

At the heart of the album lies a cenote depicted on an impossible scale. Its cosmic call draws the lost and uncertain toward self-sacrifice, while four distinct civilizations rise along the edge of the abyss. Each develops its own rituals, hierarchies, and monuments in an attempt to turn the cenote’s fatal summons into the foundation of collective existence.

To give form to this fictional world, CH’AHOM build a musical framework that brings together cavernous death metal, bestial eruptions, and feverishly progressive passages. Savage riffs moving through suffocating atmospheres are punctuated by ancient instrumentation, creating another layer of sound that reinforces the album’s narrative, rooted in the cenote and pre-Hispanic cultures.

The central idea behind “Anthropic Rites of Sublimation” is based on a deliberately literal interpretation of the death drive and the sublimation of that impulse. CH’AHOM approaches culture as a response to an irresistible desire for self-erasure, making elements such as mutilation, vicarious sacrifice, enslavement, and willing surrender fundamental to the formation of these societies. The result is a dark fiction about faith, beauty, and civilizations built on the edge of annihilation.

CH’AHOM handled the album’s recording and mixing themselves. Mastering was completed by Dan Lowndes at Resonance Sound Studio, while the cover artwork was created by Alexander Kavtea.

Alongside the previously released 'Cult Of Xaman', “Anthropic Rites of Sublimation” will feature five tracks in total. CH’AHOM’s second album will be released through 20 Buck Spin on September 18.
