Berlin-based progressive death metal project CHANGELING have released a special studio performance video for their track "World? What World?". Performed by Tom "Fountainhead" Geldschläger with his eyes closed, the recording highlights the band's technically demanding musical approach and the intricate structures embedded within the composition.

Taken from CHANGELING’s 2025 debut album "Changeling", "World? What World?" stands out as one of the project's most intense and challenging compositions. In the new video, Fountainhead performs the track entirely through memory and instinct, without relying on any visual reference. The constantly shifting rhythms, high-speed guitar passages, and complex transitions transform the performance from a simple guitar showcase into a unique experience centered around the musician’s technical mastery.

The track represents one of the most striking examples of CHANGELING’s progressive death metal vision, featuring blast beat sections reaching 260 bpm alongside expansive orchestral arrangements built around Wagner tubas. The lyrics form part of a psychological narrative exploring fears, the subconscious, and the limits of perception.

Led by Tom Geldschläger, CHANGELING’s debut album, released through Season of Mist, brings together elements of progressive metal, technical death metal, jazz fusion, and world music. The nearly hour-long concept record is regarded as one of the most ambitious projects of the artist’s career, with its complex compositions, extensive orchestration, and multilayered atmosphere.

CHANGELING are also preparing to hit the road for their first European headline tour, "Tour? What Tour? 2026". The November tour will feature support from Obsidian Tide and will take the band across Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Poland. The run marks CHANGELING’s first major European tour where they will bring the album’s material to audiences in a live setting.
