CRITICAL DEFIANCE Nears “Rivers of Blood” With New Track ‘The Feeling Destroyer’

CRITICAL DEFIANCE have released their new track ‘The Feeling Destroyer’ ahead of their fourth studio album, “Rivers of Blood.” The song premiered via Invisible Oranges, making it the third track unveiled from the album, which is due out on September 25 via Dying Victims Productions.
Formed in Valparaíso, Chile, in 2010, CRITICAL DEFIANCE bring the speed and aggression of thrash metal together with darker atmospheres, technical guitar work, and a more pronounced sense of dramatic structure on their new album. The production by Sebastián Palominos preserves the band’s sharp, clear sound while also highlighting the organic feel of the recordings.
Running across eight tracks and approximately 32 minutes, ‘The Feeling Destroyer’ occupies a notable position within the album’s structure. The song stands among the record’s key showcases of the band’s technical ability and compositional approach, while the sequencing of the tracks also plays an important role throughout “Rivers of Blood.”
Opening track ‘Red Omen’ establishes a dark atmosphere, while ‘Innate To Kill’ launches the initial assault. The title track, ‘Rivers Of Blood’, shifts the album’s momentum with a slower take on thrash metal. ‘Valparaíso’, the fifth track, is the longest and most distinctive piece on the record, connecting the band’s aggressive musical character with themes of blood, memory, and decay rooted in their own city.
On the second half of the album, the intensity and darkness rise again with ‘Dead Tongues’, while the brief instrumental ‘Ceremony Of The Final Call’ provides a transition toward the record’s conclusion. Closing track ‘Glorify War’ brings the atmosphere of violence and destruction established throughout the album to a direct finale.
Following the previously released title track ‘Rivers Of Blood’ and ‘Dead Tongues’, ‘The Feeling Destroyer’ is the third song from “Rivers of Blood” to reach listeners. The title track premiered via NoCleanSinging.com, while ‘Dead Tongues’ was premiered by Deaf Forever.
Rather than offering a merely nostalgic return to old-school thrash metal, CRITICAL DEFIANCE aim to sharpen their own musical language with “Rivers of Blood.” The album will be released internationally on September 25 via Dying Victims Productions.
