“1990 – 1993,” a collection bringing together all of California powerviolence pioneers CROSSED OUT’s official recordings from 1990 to 1993, will be reissued by Tankcrimes after decades out of print. Available on CD and vinyl, the collection features 47 tracks, including previously unreleased studio recordings and live material.

Despite their brief discography, CROSSED OUT helped shape the West Coast powerviolence scene. Their recorded output consisted of a single 7-inch EP, a 7-inch split, a 5-inch split, and contributions to various compilations. Yet this limited body of work has not stopped their recordings from becoming sought-after items among collectors over the years.

Formed in Encinitas, California, in 1990, CROSSED OUT combined abrupt starts and stops, hyperspeed passages, and heavy sludge riffs. Alongside collecting the band’s previously released material in one place, “1990 – 1993” expands their discography with unreleased studio recordings and live material.

Tankcrimes will release the collection on December 4 in CD and several vinyl editions. Vinyl variants include black with red splatter; an electric blue pressing with aqua smoke and neon yellow splatter, titled “Insomnia”; and a neon yellow and green smash pressing with purple and black splatter. A white vinyl edition, limited to 1,000 copies and exclusive to retail, will also be available.
