CRUCIVORE Set to Release Debut Album "Desecration" in November
CRUCIVORE Announces Debut
Portuguese death metal band CRUCIVORE will release their debut studio album, "Desecration", on November 13, 2026 via Testimony Records. The band's first track from the album, 'Depths of Despair', has also been released alongside a music video.
Based in Lisbon, CRUCIVORE build their sound on a death metal foundation, with brutal death and slam also playing a significant role. The band expands on this approach through cinematic elements, atmospheric passages, and more dramatic song structures.
CRUCIVORE came into existence on December 14, 2024, when former ANALEPSY vocalist Ricardo Proença and DOWNFALL OF MANKIND guitarist Sérgio Páscoa joined forces to form a new band. They subsequently recruited experienced musicians from Portugal's underground scene, shaping a sound that moves between death metal, brutal death, and slam.
The band's lyrics draw on classic death metal themes such as corruption, decay, blasphemy, mortality, and apocalyptic imagery. Throughout "Desecration", the grotesque aspects of existence are also explored through a dark and destructive narrative.
Recording, mixing, and mastering for the album were handled by Caesar Craveiro at Fingerprint Studio Lx in Lisbon. The cover artwork was created by Björn Atldax.
The album opens with 'The Crucivore's Feast' and closes with 'Terminus', completing a 12-track release.
