Global Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne from the Death Metal World
Details have been finalized for an extensive tribute album dedicated to preserving the legacy of Ozzy Osbourne, one of the most unforgettable figures in the metal world. The compilation, titled “Death Metal Tribute to OZZY” and assembled by Death Metal Promotion, is set for digital release on August 7, 2026.
Bringing together a total of 26 death metal bands from across the global extreme metal underground, the album reinterprets classic songs selected from both Ozzy Osbourne’s solo career and his era with Black Sabbath. Bands from Europe, North and South America, and Asia will present their own takes on some of heavy metal’s most iconic works, reshaping them through a death metal lens.
Following his passing on July 22, 2025, Ozzy Osbourne continues to be recognized not only as the legendary frontman of Black Sabbath, but also as one of the most influential figures in metal music through the body of work he created during his solo career. This new tribute album aims to showcase how that influence continues to resonate across different subgenres of metal.

Rather than replicating these classic songs note for note, the bands involved in the project have chosen to reinterpret them through the prism of their own musical identities. As a result, landmark compositions such as “Crazy Train,” “Mr. Crowley,” “Paranoid,” “No More Tears,” “Bark at the Moon,” and “Electric Funeral” will be reborn in a far heavier and more aggressive form.
Featuring musicians from countries including Sweden, the United States, Poland, Germany, Portugal, Brazil, Vietnam, Mexico, Peru, and Greece, the compilation highlights just how deeply Ozzy Osbourne’s songwriting has impacted not only traditional heavy metal circles, but also the furthest reaches of the extreme metal spectrum.
“Death Metal Tribute to OZZY” stands out as an international project that unites death metal acts from different corners of the world in a collective salute to one of metal music’s greatest icons. The album’s cover artwork and final lineup have also now been unveiled by the organizers.
