Finnish death/thrash metal band DET and Chilean thrash metal outfit CRITICAL DEFIANCE have joined forces for the split mini-album "Bloodsurge". Set for international release on October 23 via Dying Victims Productions, the record will be available on CD and 12" vinyl.

Prepared in conjunction with a joint tour planned for this autumn, "Bloodsurge" brings new material from both bands together on a single release. DET contribute three new tracks, continuing the aggressive and chaotic path established on their previous album while tightening the overall approach.

The Finnish trio also offer a live recording of 'Death Night', an older track from their repertoire. The song was recorded during the band's performance at this year's Catalonia Extreme Gathering festival in Spain.

CRITICAL DEFIANCE, meanwhile, contribute three new songs alongside the acoustic instrumental 'Will Of Steel'. While the Chilean band's thrash metal-driven approach remains intact, the new material also explores darker and more extreme elements, alongside an acoustic contrast.

As part of the "Bloodsurge" campaign, DET's new track 'Necromancer' has been released exclusively through Deaf Forever's website ahead of the full album.
