DISMA Sign with Hells Headbangers and Prepare New Album
DISMA prepare an hour of devastation.
US death metal band DISMA have signed with Hells Headbangers. The first release under the deal will be the band’s long-awaited second full-length album, “Exitum Profundus”. Set to feature nine new tracks and run for over an hour, the album is scheduled for release in the first half of 2027.
Formed in 2005, DISMA are known for their primitive, dark approach to death metal. Vocalist Craig Pillard, who now handles guitar duties as well, brings a significant part of the band’s musical history with him through his work on INCANTATION’s first two albums. DISMA’s heavy, sombre sound occupies a space where the dark aesthetics of early CELTIC FROST meet those of WINTER.
The significance of the new album within DISMA’s discography is also tied to the lengthy gaps between releases. The band’s 2011 debut, “Towards the Megalith”, remains central to their body of work, while two EPs released over the past decade have continued along the same musical path. “Exitum Profundus” will mark DISMA’s second full-length, featuring nine new tracks. The cover artwork comes from Ola Larsson, who has worked with the band before.
The deal may extend beyond the new album. Hells Headbangers are also preparing to reissue DISMA’s back catalogue across all formats. If these plans come to fruition, listeners looking to revisit the band’s earlier material will have new options available.
DISMA issued the following statement about this new chapter: “Prepare for immense ruin and annihilation. The war has begun!”
A precise release date for “Exitum Profundus” has yet to be announced. The album is planned for release within the first six months of 2027.
