DISSECT THE MASSES Debut with Technical Death Metal and Blackened Touches
Technical fury takes shape in darkness
US tech death metal band DISSECT THE MASSES have emerged with their debut full-length, “A Vile Disfigurement”, drawing attention with a lineup connected to FLESHBORE, UNALIGNED, ABYSSALIS, and DEMON KING.
The band's musical approach brings together the high-speed, aggressive character of technical death metal with blackened elements and atmospheric melodic passages. The densely technical sections running through the songs are balanced by more atmospheric and memorable parts that drive the tracks toward dramatic peaks.
This approach is particularly evident on the album's title track, ‘A Vile Disfigurement’. Technicality is not used merely as instrumental showmanship, while the track's energy is reinforced by more memorable passages.
Vocalist Andrew J Guia's background in UNALIGNED is also an important part of this musical character. With his intense and harsh vocal approach, Guia adds a darker tone to the band's already high-energy sound. On bass, the lineup features Cole Daniels, whose credits include ABYSSALIS, UNALIGNED, FLESHBORE, and DEMON KING.
On drums, NORSE member Robin Stone and BENIGHTED drummer Kevin Paradis perform as session musicians. Rick Davidheiser handles guitars, while mixing and mastering were completed by Erik Johnson of Dark Prophet Audio. The artwork comes from Daemorph, known for his connection to DEATHFUCKINGCUNT.
