New Orleans-based sludge metal titans DOWN are set to return to the stage in summer 2026 with an extensive North American headlining tour. Dubbed the “Strap It Down” tour, the run marks a powerful comeback after a prolonged absence, with Helmet and Spirit In The Room confirmed as support acts. The itinerary spans a dense stretch of shows from mid-August through early September.

The tour kicks off on August 15, 2026 in Atlanta and concludes on September 4 in Shakopee, Minnesota. The final night will also feature a previously announced special slot as direct support to Slayer. In addition, the band will appear at Zakk Wylde’s Berzerkus Festival, sharing the bill with Lamb of God, Black Label Society, and a host of other major acts across select dates.

Ticket sales begin on May 27 with artist pre-sales, followed by general on-sale on May 29. The organization is also offering a limited number of VIP packages, which include soundcheck access, a meet & greet, a signed poster, and exclusive tour merchandise.

Alongside the tour announcement, another key development has emerged from the DOWN camp regarding their discography. The remastered edition of “Over The Under,” announced via Nuclear Blast Records, is set for reissue in 2026. Originally released in 2007, the album gains a refreshed sonic identity through new mastering, while the CD and digital editions will also include the previously US-unreleased track “Invest In Fear.”

Meanwhile, DOWN’s recent rendition of Dr. John’s “Right Place, Wrong Time” continues to circulate across all major streaming platforms. With this release and the upcoming tour, the band once again brings its distinctive sound—rooted in the darker traditions of New Orleans blues—back into focus.
