EMBRACE OF THORNS and INVOCATION Unite for a Split Release
A dark metal alliance across continents
Greece’s blackened death metal band EMBRACE OF THORNS and Chilean black/death metal band INVOCATION are joining forces for a special split mini-album featuring six new tracks. Titled “Invoking the Noumenon / Crushing the Feeble Messianic Embrace”, the release will be issued internationally by Iron Bonehead Productions on October 30 in CD and 12" vinyl formats.
Running for 22 minutes, the album features three new and exclusive tracks from each band. EMBRACE OF THORNS, who have been working in the vein of blackened, bestial death metal for nearly 30 years, deliver their first recorded material since 2022’s “Entropy Dynamics” with this release. The band’s two main tracks on the split continue their characteristic martial and bulldozing approach, while the third, ‘Mundo vai acabar - Hipersublime’, serves as a quieter outro bridging the two sides.
INVOCATION, meanwhile, last appeared with their 2024 debut album “The Archaic Sanctuary (Ritual Body Postures)”. The three tracks prepared by the Chilean band for the split draw on the fast, dark, and atmospheric side of the South American black/death metal tradition.
The EMBRACE OF THORNS side features ‘Life-Strife-Transgression’, ‘Destroyer of all Maladies’, and ‘Mundo vai acabar - Hipersublime (Outro)’, while INVOCATION contribute ‘Altar of Unseen Prayers’, ‘Impetuous’, and ‘The Shattered Torch’.
Iron Bonehead Productions has announced that the full stream of “Invoking the Noumenon / Crushing the Feeble Messianic Embrace” will be made available ahead of its October 30 release.
