Endspace Opens the Door to the Sci-Fi Black Metal Universe with Debut Album “First Contact”
Sci-Fi Black
Canadian sci-fi black metal outfit Endspace are preparing to reshape the boundaries of extreme metal through the cosmic atmosphere of their debut full-length “First Contact.” Combining traditional black metal elements with electronic textures, industrial influences, and space-themed sound design, the band aims to deliver an unconventional musical experience.
Endspace’s music moves away from classic black metal structures, embracing a more experimental and futuristic direction. The band’s two members are also part of the death metal group Fractal Generator, and they handle all instruments on “First Contact” themselves. Through the use of synthesizers, vocoder effects, and layers of electronics, the album creates an atmosphere that feels like a dark transmission sent from an unknown planet.
The tracks featured on the album are described by the band as “transmissions.” Consisting of nine chapters, this structure gives each track its own identity and narrative, taking listeners on a sci-fi journey that unfolds as part of a larger story.
Endspace combines the cold and dark essence of black metal with the mechanical sounds of modern technology. The album also carries traces of death metal and industrial influences, while experimental effects reminiscent of deep space and sound textures evoking messages from an alien civilization take center stage.
Although only a limited number of bands have explored the connection between science fiction themes and black metal, Endspace pushes this concept much further with their debut release. “First Contact” stands as a striking first encounter for listeners looking to explore the atmospheric and experimental side of the genre.

The album’s tracklist is as follows:
First Transmission
Second Transmission
Third Transmission
Fourth Transmission
Fifth Transmission
Sixth Transmission
Seventh Transmission
Eighth Transmission
Ninth Transmission
