FORSMÁN Set Sights on Debut Full-Length
FORSMÁN have begun the countdown to the release of their debut full-length, Brenndar Rústir & Fuðrandi Fjörur. Regarded as one of the rising young acts within Iceland’s black metal scene, the band have unveiled a new track from the album titled “Drottinn Fyrirgefur Allt.” The record will see a worldwide release on June 26th via Vesperian in collaboration with Metal Blade Records.
Despite still being at the very beginning of their career, the Icelandic outfit are already building notable momentum, combining punishing atmospheres with meticulous songwriting on their latest material. With its cold riff structures, dense sense of darkness, and constantly shifting dynamics, the track makes it clear that the band are not merely following the modern Icelandic black metal tradition, but beginning to carve out an identity of their own within it.
The album artwork bears the signature of renowned underground metal illustrator Paolo Girardi. Having previously worked with acts such as Power Trip, Revocation, and Sulphur Aeon, Girardi’s cover piece stands out as one of the defining elements completing the album’s bleak aesthetic.
Consisting of eight tracks, the album features new material developed in the aftermath of the band’s previous EP, Dönsum í logans ljóma. Although the members are still only in their early twenties, FORSMÁN have already started being mentioned alongside some of the standout names in the contemporary Icelandic black metal movement. Their sound is shaped by suffocating atmospheres, aggressive structures, and forward-driving songwriting.
The album’s physical editions will include special digipak CD and colored vinyl versions.
