FUNERAL Announces Debut EP, ‘Averno’ Now Streaming
Lima Unleashes Chaotic Violence
Lima, Peru-based FUNERAL are preparing to unleash their self-titled debut EP, “Funeral,” on September 25. Running for 16 minutes across five tracks, the release brings together the band’s black metal, hardcore-punk, and deathrock influences through a sharply abrasive approach to noise.
Alongside the EP announcement, the band have also released a new track, ‘Averno’. The song showcases the staccato riffs, chorus-drenched guitars, and tortured vocal approach that define FUNERAL’s debut recording, offering a direct glimpse into the band’s chaotic and aggressive musical character.
A video for ‘Averno’ is also available via Caligari Records’ official YouTube channel. The song is also the second track on the tracklist of the band’s debut EP, due out September 25.
Although FUNERAL are a newly formed band, their members are experienced figures within Lima’s local underground scene. Nilo’s razor-sharp riffs, Sabasius’ high-speed drumming, and Cavernoso’s guttural vocals form the foundation of the band’s five-track debut recording.

“Funeral” will be released internationally through Caligari Records and Black Legion Records. Caligari Records will handle the cassette edition, while Black Legion Records will release the CD version.
The EP’s tracklist features ‘Bala Perdida’, ‘Averno’, ‘Almas en el Abismo’, ‘Tumbas Vacias’, and ‘Enterrado’. Pre-orders for the release are now available through Caligari Records’ Bandcamp page.
