Gabriëlle Driessen to Release New Single “Raining Over Your (Our) Grave” on October 30
Grief, orchestras, and death’s darkest face
Venezuelan singer, cellist, and composer Gabriëlle Driessen will release her new single, “Raining Over Your (Our) Grave,” on digital platforms on October 30, 2026. A cinematic music video accompanying the track will premiere on the same day at 22:00 CET on her YouTube channel.
Working at the intersection of dark fantasy metal and symphonic gothic metal, Driessen brings doom metal and black metal influences to the forefront of her latest work. Opening with a fragile, melancholic atmosphere, the track grows heavier and increasingly oppressive as it progresses, reflecting its themes of mourning through its musical structure. Orchestral layers, gothic melodies, and extreme metal passages are among the key elements shaping its dark narrative.

“Raining Over Your (Our) Grave” explores the pain of losing a loved one and the inability to accept their absence. Driessen’s vocal approach moves between lyrical passages, harsh and fractured tones, and powerful growls, following an emotional trajectory that shifts between longing, despair, and anger. Its lyrics weave together imagery of rain, ravens, and graves, bringing together symbols of nature and death while further expanding the track’s dark fantasy universe.
The new single follows “Deathly Waltz” and “Eternal Reverie,” through which Driessen has developed an ongoing dark narrative. While her previous releases explored death, loss, and reunion beyond the grave, this time she focuses on a point at which grief remains unresolved and the full weight of loss is still deeply felt.

The track was written by Gabriëlle Driessen and Yamil Ladner, who also handled production, arrangements, mixing, and mastering. The artwork was created by Jacqueline Marie Rusk, with lettering by Begoña Moreno del Real. Driessen will release the music video alongside the single, extending its dark, cinematic atmosphere into a visual narrative.
“Raining Over Your (Our) Grave” will be available on all digital platforms on October 30, 2026.
