GRADIENCE Releases 'Undone' Video Ahead of Debut Album
GRADIENCE New Single
Danish metal band GRADIENCE have released a video for their new single 'Undone' ahead of their debut full-length, "Anomaly". The album will be released via Metal Blade Records on September 4 in CD, LP, and digital formats.
'Undone' focuses on vocalist Gavin Mistry's struggle to voice his dark thought patterns rather than keeping them bottled up, as well as coming to terms with the fact that you do not have to face your difficulties alone. Mistry explains that the track also addresses the importance of accepting help from the people close to you.
GRADIENCE bring together elements of extreme metal, trap, and rap in their sound. Heavy, blackened death metal-inspired guitars are combined with trap rhythms, electronic textures, breakdowns, and melodic vocal lines. At the core of this approach is the meeting point between Mistry's background in rap and guitarist Jakob Lærke Harris' roots in extreme metal.
The pair's musical partnership began in 2022 at a Cabal show in Copenhagen. Mistry, who had previously been involved with the grunge/rock/trap project KXDS, had also worked within the underground hip-hop scene. Harris sees Mistry's ability to move between melodic vocals and hard-hitting rap flows as an element that opened up new possibilities in the band's songwriting.
Alongside Mistry and Harris, GRADIENCE's lineup features Frederik Kjelstrup Hansen on drums and Patrick Petersen on bass. "Anomaly" will feature 11 tracks.
