Australian thrash metal band HARLOTT are set to return with their new studio album "Exsequiis" following a six-year hiatus. Comprising 11 tracks, the album is described as a further development of the different ideas the band began exploring during the "Detritus Of The Final Age" era.

Guitarist and vocalist Andrew Hudson explains that the band explored musical ideas on their 2020 album that they had previously been hesitant to attempt, while "Exsequiis" sees them pursuing that approach with greater confidence. Fast riffs, crushing grooves, technical guitar passages, melodic leads and aggressive vocals are among the defining elements of the album's musical framework.

While Slayer's "Reign In Blood" era remains a clear reference point at the core of HARLOTT's approach to thrash metal, the album also features echoes of Overkill's '90s grooves, passages reminiscent of Sepultura's "Arise" era, Testament-inspired technical touches and crossover-style gang vocals. At the same time, the band incorporates these influences within its own musical identity.

Clocking in at approximately 46 minutes, "Exsequiis" is also said to feature an aggressive and direct production style. Tom Richards' bass is particularly prominent in certain passages, while the guitars and drums are positioned within a dense, high-impact sound.

The album's lyrical themes focus on the current social and political climate. Andrew Hudson notes that the normalization of disinformation and people's intense fixation on creating and engaging with online content have brought certain aspects of society into sharper view.

"Exsequiis" will be released on CD, digital formats and vinyl. The vinyl edition will be available in the "Coagulation" colour variant, limited to 500 copies in Europe.

HARLOTT will also play a series of European shows during the new album cycle. The band's 2026 tour schedule includes dates in Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Belgium. As part of the run, the band will perform at Namenlos in Bonn on September 19 and Bambi Galore in Hamburg on September 23.

HARLOTT's current lineup consists of Andrew Hudson (guitar, vocals), Tom Richards (bass, vocals), Leigh Bartley (guitar) and Glen Trayhern (drums).
