IAPETUS Return with New Album "The Mother Void"
IAPETUS Returns Strongly
U.S.-based progressive/melodic death metal duo IAPETUS are returning with their new album "The Mother Void", following their 2019 release "The Body Cosmic". The band has announced that the new record will be released on October 16 via Willowtip Records.
Shaped by core members Matthew Cerami and Jordan Navarro, IAPETUS’ new album also features contributions from several guest musicians. Fabienne Erni delivers guest vocals on the record, while drummer Brody Taylor Smith (Invent Animate), guitarist Benji Baret (Ne Obliviscaris), and vocalist Frank Harper (Caelestra) are among the artists contributing to the album.
"The Mother Void" continues the band’s conceptual approach built around cosmic themes and human existence. IAPETUS describe the album as a narrative shaped by humanity, the universe, and the feeling of being destined for failure, while serving as the final chapter of their trilogy exploring the tension between mortal existence and the endless reaches of space.
The official video for the album’s first single, 'Red Giant', has been released. The track will arrive on digital platforms on August 7, with album pre-orders also becoming available on the same day.
"The Mother Void" features mixing and mastering by Jens Bogren and Tony Lindgren. The recording process took place under the Fascination Street Studios banner, while the album artwork was created by Vanessa Lemen.
The album will be available on CD, gatefold 2xLP, limited Longbox CD, and digital formats.
