If These Trees Could Talk Return With New Album
New Album The Hidden Hand
One of the standout acts in the instrumental post-rock scene, If These Trees Could Talk have returned with their new full-length album “The Hidden Hand”. Released via Metal Blade Records, the record continues the band’s strong approach to creating immersive atmospheres while offering a broader, cinematic, and emotionally charged sonic landscape.
Formed in 2005 by brothers Cody and Zack Kelly, If These Trees Could Talk have built a unique place for themselves within post-rock and post-metal circles with their wordless approach to storytelling. Consisting of nine tracks, “The Hidden Hand” invites listeners on a journey beyond language, driven by dense guitar layers, dynamic rhythms, and expansive sonic landscapes.

According to drummer Zack Kelly, the album’s title stems from a fascination with the unknown, the unexplained, and the invisible forces that shape human life. The band built the concept around the idea of signs, symbols, and connections that remain hidden in plain sight, only becoming visible to those who are willing to look.
Featuring three guitars filling different areas of the sonic spectrum, “The Hidden Hand” creates a balanced flow between calm, atmospheric passages and powerful eruptions. Moving like a cinematic score, the album offers listeners both a space for inner exploration and an intense emotional experience.
Among the album’s standout tracks, “Blurry Creatures” reflects the band’s signature heavy riffing approach and epic peaks, while “Sea Of Glass” draws attention with its more melodic and uplifting guitar lines. The album’s seventh track, “Metanoia,” creates a distinct atmosphere through progressive guitar work, powerful drums, and guitar solos reminiscent of David Gilmour’s classic era.
