Impureza Hellfest 2026
French-Spanish extreme metal outfit Impureza have released their new live video “Una mañana con Impureza”, capturing their performance at Hellfest 2026. With this special release, the band brings the powerful live representation of their third studio album Alcázares to the metal world.
Available through Season of Mist’s official YouTube channel, the video features footage from the band’s appearance at Hellfest, one of Europe’s most important metal festivals. With this performance, Impureza bring not only the sheer intensity of brutal death metal to the stage, but also the flamenco textures rooted in Andalusian culture.
In their statement about the Hellfest experience, the band members emphasized that performing on such a stage represented much more than a regular concert. According to Impureza, their Hellfest appearance stands as a special moment where the spirit of flamenco and the energy of extreme metal came together within the same musical universe. The band also expressed their gratitude to their supporters and the festival organization.
The “Una mañana con Impureza” video once again brings the conceptual world of the band’s 2025 album Alcázares to life in a live setting. Inspired by historical narratives, medieval warfare, the fall of Al-Andalus, and the era of the Reconquista, the album represents Impureza’s distinctive “Hispanic Metal” vision by combining brutal death metal, flamenco guitars, orchestral arrangements, and fretless bass elements.
The Hellfest performance strongly highlights the two defining sides of the band’s identity. Lionel Cano Muñoz’s Spanish guitar melodies and Esteban Martín’s harsh vocal delivery merge with the aggressive force of extreme metal, while flamenco dancer Cécilia Cappozzo’s stage presence further emphasizes the band’s connection to Iberian culture.
Founded in 2004 by guitarist Lionel Cano Muñoz, Impureza have carved out a unique position in the international metal scene with their approach of blending traditional Spanish music with modern extreme metal. While the band draws influence from the intensity and technical approaches of acts such as Nile, Behemoth, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Hate Eternal, they also channel the inspiration they have taken from Spanish musical legends like Paco de Lucía and Camarón de la Isla into their own dark musical universe.
The “Una mañana con Impureza” live video showcases the band’s stage identity, where cultural heritage, historical storytelling, and uncompromising metal aggression converge. With this release, Impureza continue to expand the boundaries of their Hispanic Metal vision.
