Mexico City death metal band IN OBSCURITY REVEALED will release their second studio album, “Caustic Maelstrom,” on October 9 via Personal Records on CD. Arriving seven years after their debut full-length, the album maintains the musical path established by the band in 2014, with a focus on the early death metal tradition.

Since their formation, IN OBSCURITY REVEALED have remained firmly rooted in death metal. Their previous releases include material issued through Caverna Abismal Records, as well as the “Grim Fumes of Revelation” EP released in collaboration with Blood Harvest Records, their debut full-length “Glorious Impurity,” and a split album with INFESTICIDE.

As the band's second full-length, “Caustic Maelstrom” brings the seven-year period following their debut to a close. Rather than pursuing new directions or stylistic changes, IN OBSCURITY REVEALED seek to push their own approach to death metal further on the new album. Early MORBID ANGEL, NECROVORE, and INCANTATION are among the key influences underpinning its sound, while its dark atmosphere and dense riffing define the band's established character.

The album's production strikes a balance between its dense, crushing character and the clarity needed to distinguish the individual instruments. With this approach, the band retains the sonic identity established on their previous releases while presenting a harsher atmosphere on the new album.

IN OBSCURITY REVEALED have completed two European tours to date and are preparing for their third European tour this year.

“Caustic Maelstrom” will be released on October 9 via Personal Records on CD. The album's first advance track, ‘Engulfed In Caustic Maelstrom,’ is now available to hear.
