IN OBSCURITY REVEALED Releases New Track From Second Album Seven Years Later
Darkness returns after seven years
Mexican death metal band IN OBSCURITY REVEALED have shared ‘Consecrated by Rot’, a new track from their upcoming second full-length, "Caustic Maelstrom", following a seven-year gap between albums. The track premiered via NoCleanSinging.com and is the second song unveiled from the album.
As ‘Consecrated by Rot’ arrives as a new single, it also offers a glimpse into the band's approach to their second album. Formed in Mexico City in 2014, IN OBSCURITY REVEALED followed their early releases with an ongoing collaboration with Blood Harvest Records, through which they released the "Grim Fumes of Revelation" EP, the "Glorious Impurity" album, and a split release with INFESTICIDE.

"Caustic Maelstrom" will be released internationally on October 9 via Personal Records as the band's second album, following their 2019 debut full-length "Glorious Impurity". Rather than changing direction, the band have chosen to delve further into the death metal foundation they established previously. Early MORBID ANGEL, NECROVORE, and INCANTATION influences are prominent throughout the album's atmosphere, while the band say the production takes a balanced approach between harshness and clarity.
‘Consecrated by Rot’ is the second track unveiled from the album so far. The previously released ‘Engulfed in Caustic Maelstrom’ is available through Personal Records' Bandcamp page. Pre-order information for the album is also now available.
IN OBSCURITY REVEALED are entering the "Caustic Maelstrom" era while continuing their activities on the European circuit. The band have previously completed two European tours and are preparing for their third this year.
The album features eight tracks:
‘Engulfed In Caustic Maelstrom’
‘Obsidian Bleeding’
‘To Death, In Fire’
‘Necrotically Gray Hand’
‘Phlegm Filled Chalice’
‘Consecrated By Rot’
‘Voluntary Immolation’
‘Sulfur-Clotted Wounds’
