Who Will Darken Oslo at Inferno 2027?
Inferno Metal Festival will return to Oslo, Norway, on March 25–28, 2027, with Carcass, Blasphemy, Mgła, Master’s Hammer and Arcturus among the announced acts. The four-day concert programme will be accompanied by the Inferno Music Conference, which begins a day earlier.

Inferno Metal Festival is continuing preparations for its 2027 edition, with new announcements expanding the line-up for the long-running extreme metal event in Oslo. According to the festival’s official website, the announced acts include Carcass, Blasphemy, Mgła, Master’s Hammer, Arcturus, Trelldom and The Ruins of Beverast. Further additions are expected, as the organisers have yet to complete the line-up.
British death metal pioneers Carcass and Canadian black metal band Blasphemy are among the most prominent names confirmed so far. The line-up also features Polish black metal act Mgła, Norwegian veterans Kampfar and Trelldom, Scottish blackened speed metal project Hellripper, and Czech black metal pioneers Master’s Hammer. Arcturus, The Ruins of Beverast, Ruïm, Green Carnation and Shores of Null further illustrate the range of styles represented in the announced programme.
The autumn 2026 announcements also highlight the festival’s commitment to acts beyond the established names. Danish hardcore band Split, Norwegian acts Melting Brain Club, Heimland, Jordsjuk and Blodmaane join an international roster that includes Asagraum, Ellende, Houle, Daeva and Sworn. Other announced performers include Kraanium, Rotten Sound, Lifesick, KVAEN, Sarkom, Stigma Diabolicum, Nedgravd, Krapyl, Oskaal and Myrvandrer.
One of the announced highlights is Arcturus’ special performance. According to the organisers, the Norwegian avant-garde metal band will perform Aspera Hiems Symfonia, alongside selected material from La Masquerade Infernale and The Sham Mirrors. Vocalist Øyvind Hægeland, who performed with the band in 2003, will also make a special appearance.
Four days of concerts and a music industry conference
The festival’s concert programme will run from March 25–28, 2027. The accompanying Inferno Music Conference is scheduled for March 24–28 and includes activities for music industry professionals as well as instrument clinics.
Rockefeller and John Dee are among the festival’s concert venues in Oslo. Beyond the live programme, Inferno presents itself as a broader gathering for the international extreme metal community, with the music conference, tattoo-related activities and other cultural events contributing to the experience.
