German heavy psychedelic rock quartet KANT released their third studio album, “Echoes Of Unfortunate Times,” on October 23 via Sound Of Liberation Records. Centered on fears and uncertainties about the future, the new record takes a heavier and more experimental musical approach than its predecessor, 2024’s “Paranoia Pilgrimage.”

The Aschaffenburg-based band brings together heavy psychedelia, doom-laden riffs, and krautrock experimentation across eight tracks. The occult atmosphere that featured prominently in KANT’s previous work takes a back seat this time, giving way to a more direct, contemporary, and emotionally personal approach. While remaining rooted in heavy psychedelic rock, the band allows itself greater musical freedom.

Fear of the future lies at the heart of “Echoes Of Unfortunate Times,” shaped by the uncertainties and anxieties of the present day. Rather than relying on the psychedelic and heavy rock legacy of the past, KANT channels these feelings into eight tracks. Vocalist and guitarist Marius Seidel describes the record as “the most honest and emotional album we have written so far.”

Patrick Stäudle handled the album’s recording, production, mixing, and mastering, while Manuel Wesely created the artwork.

With “Echoes Of Unfortunate Times” now out, KANT are preparing to hit the road, bringing their new material to the stage alongside fan favorites. The tour kicks off on October 24 at Colos-Saal in Aschaffenburg, Germany. Throughout November and December, the band will play a series of predominantly German dates, with a stop in Vaduz, Liechtenstein, also on the schedule. The tour concludes on December 19 at Kantine in Cologne.
