KATRE Release ‘Gaia’ from Upcoming Album “Natura”
KATRE Confront Humanity’s Relationship With Nature
Berlin-based atmospheric post-metal band KATRE have announced their signing to the Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records roster with the release of their new single ‘Gaia’. The track is the first to be unveiled from the band’s third full-length album, “Natura”, and arrives alongside an official music video.
Comprising seven tracks, “Natura” revolves around humanity’s relationship with the natural world and the destructive consequences of placing itself above nature. Its narrative moves through themes of grief, alienation and ancient memory, ultimately focusing on humanity’s confrontation with the impact it has had on the world around it. ‘Gaia’ represents the opening chapter of this story.
Founded in 2014, KATRE have built their music around specific narratives throughout their previous releases. Their 2017 debut album, “Encounters”, explored human existence from conception and birth to self-awareness, while 2021’s “Behind the Resilience” followed a refugee family struggling to rebuild their lives amid war and displacement. Produced by Chris Edrich, whose credits include The Ocean, Klone and Leprous, the second album further developed the band’s cinematic approach to heavy music.
With “Natura”, KATRE shift their focus from the human stories explored on their previous releases to humanity’s impact on its surroundings. The album was mixed by Terry Nikas at Zero Gravity Studios and mastered by Dinos Prassas.
Featuring Hasan Koç and Thomas Kock on guitars, Hüseyin Koç on bass and Marcos Feminella on drums, KATRE’s third full-length album, “Natura”, will be released through Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records. The announcement does not specify a release date.
