KING DIAMOND Welcomes Gus G. To The Lineup
Gus G. Joins
One of heavy metal’s most iconic names, KING DIAMOND, has made a significant change to its guitar lineup. Gus G., guitarist for FIREWIND and former member of OZZY OSBOURNE’s band, has joined the group as its new guitarist. The Greek musician will now take part in KING DIAMOND’s upcoming songwriting process, studio recordings, and future tours.
As the band enters this new chapter, KING DIAMOND also paid tribute to Andy LaRocque’s more than four decades of contributions with a special message. LaRocque’s creativity and distinctive musical identity, which played a major role in shaping KING DIAMOND’s signature sound, remain among the most important elements in the band’s history.
In a statement, KING DIAMOND expressed his excitement about welcoming Gus G. into the band, while confirming that the guitarist will continue his current projects, including FIREWIND and his solo work. The band emphasized that this collaboration will continue through careful scheduling between both sides and that fans will hear new KING DIAMOND material featuring Gus G.’s guitar work in the future.
Regarded as one of metal’s most respected guitarists, Gus G. has led FIREWIND for more than two decades. He also served as OZZY OSBOURNE’s guitarist between 2009 and 2017, contributing to the Grammy-nominated album "Scream". Alongside his solo career, he has gained further recognition through collaborations with major artists such as BRUCE DICKINSON, ARCH ENEMY, DORO, and IN THIS MOMENT.
KING DIAMOND and Gus G. have already begun working on new material together. The band’s upcoming releases are set to open a new chapter in its long-running and influential career.
The current KING DIAMOND lineup features King Diamond (vocals), Gus G. (guitars), Mike Wead (guitars), Pontus Egberg (bass), and Matt Thompson (drums).
