Polish thrash metal band KOMUTATOR have broken their 13-year silence with their new single, 'Inhuman Resources'. The band's long-awaited second studio album, "We Don't Owe You Anything", will be released on September 18, 2026, via Via Nocturna.

Formed in 2006 by guitarist Michał "Kinder" Kowalski, KOMUTATOR established themselves in the Polish underground metal scene with their debut album, "Metal Sadism". The band's return after a 13-year hiatus is about more than simply announcing a new album; with the material developed during this period, the band are also broadening their musical approach.

The central idea behind 'Inhuman Resources' offers an important clue to the narrative running through the new album. Rather than focusing on humanity being wiped out by some great catastrophe, "We Don't Owe You Anything" examines how humanity brings about its own downfall through everyday choices and the erosion of values. The distortion of truth, freedom turning into an illusion, and people being treated as resources rather than individuals are among the album's central themes.

The lyric video accompanying the new single offers the first glimpse of this approach. While 'Inhuman Resources' is now available across all digital platforms, the track also serves as the first piece of material shared from the band's upcoming September 18 album.

The album's recording process stretched from 2024 to 2026. KOMUTATOR allowed the material to develop naturally across multiple recording sessions, with the recordings taking place at Heinrich House Studio and Turnia Studio. Mixing and mastering were handled by Filip Hałucha at Heinrich House Studio. Hałucha's credits include BAALZAGOTH, BEHEMOTH, and DEUS MORTEM.

The band describe "We Don't Owe You Anything" as their most diverse work to date. Alongside the aggression of thrash metal, the album also makes room for moments of melancholy, tension, and reflection. Rather than deliberately forcing these different moods into a single balance, the band approached them as a natural reflection of the emotions carried by each song.

That broader musical framework also extends to the album's guest contributions. ASGAARD member Wojciech Kostrzewa provides samples on 'Metathesiophobia', while WOLFPACK HEADING NOWHERE member Szczepan Inglot contributes lyrics to 'The Doom We Crave' and 'Inhuman Resources', as well as guest vocals on 'Inhuman Resources'. SCEPTIC guitarist Jacek Hiro, meanwhile, contributes a guest solo to 'Watch Beauty Die'.

KOMUTATOR founder Michał "Kinder" Kowalski describes the album's approach as follows:

“We Don't Owe You Anything is a record that doesn't try to provide easy answers, an honest and uncompromising one. Instead, it invites the listener to face the world as it is and question how much our own choices have contributed to humanity's decline.”

"We Don't Owe You Anything" will be released digitally and on CD via VIA NOCTURNA on September 18, 2026. The nine-track album features the new single 'Inhuman Resources' alongside 'Harbinger', 'The Doom We Crave', 'Let It Bomb', 'Metathesiophobia', 'Watch Beauty Die', 'Monster', and 'Season of Storms'.
