North Texas-based musician and writer LANE OLIVER has unveiled his new solo project. The artist’s first offering, “I Spoke Of You In The Past Tense,” brings together ambient textures, post-rock elements, and experimental layers of sound, and is now available across digital platforms.

Recorded in a single session, the eighteen-minute track is built around an expansive atmosphere shaped by LANE OLIVER’s guitar textures, effects, and various field recordings. The piece draws listeners in with melancholic, slow-burning guitar passages before gradually moving toward the darker and more destructive side of post-rock through its increasingly intense structure.

“I Spoke Of You In The Past Tense” combines emotionally fragile moments with harsh and chaotic walls of sound within the same framework. Blending ambient textures, noise influences, and an experimental approach, the track offers an immersive listening experience for fans of atmosphere-driven acts such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Nadja, and similar projects.

The track’s mixing and mastering were handled by Scott Miller of Ancient Temple Recordings, while the artwork was created by Eeli Helin. With this debut solo release, LANE OLIVER opens the doors to a personal and cinematic sonic universe.

This is not the musician’s only work released this year. OLIVER previously released “The Outcome” EP from Diminishing, his harsh post-industrial project with David Brenner of Gridfailure. New material from both his solo project and Diminishing’s second full-length album is currently in development.
