LȲKAA Joins Octopus Rising and Releases ‘Izome’
Darkness From The Bunker
German doom-heavy metal band LȲKAA from Saxony have signed with Octopus Rising and shared the first track from their forthcoming debut album, "Light Eater". The single, ‘Izome’, marks the beginning of the band’s new chapter with the label.
The band’s story began in the winter of 2022, during the pandemic, inside an old Cold War bunker. With isolation, tension, and decay directly reflected in their music, LȲKAA build their dark atmosphere not around occult aesthetics or theatrical imagery, but by focusing on the darker side of human experience.
Musically, the band combines doom-driven heavy metal with dark melodicism and post-punk influences, creating a dense and melancholic atmosphere. As the first example of this approach, ‘Izome’ signals a new phase for LȲKAA, bringing the legacy of dark and melodic heavy metal into a more atmospheric and contemporary setting.
The official visualizer for ‘Izome’ has been released. The track is the first piece from the forthcoming "Light Eater" album to be shared with listeners.
LȲKAA’s live experience took shape during the period leading up to the album. Between 2023 and 2025, the band shared stages with MESSA and ZHAAT, carrying the dark atmosphere of their recordings into their live performances.
"Light Eater", their fully produced debut full-length, will be released via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records. The album’s release date and further details are expected to be announced at a later stage.
LȲKAA’s lineup consists of Elly Preussner (vocals), Johannes Werner (guitar, keys, vocals), Rasmus Korn (guitar), Đenan Muratagić (bass), and Christoph Weilbach (drums). All drum recordings on the album were performed by Johannes Ivandic.
