Italian thrash metal outfit Mass Crysis have stepped outside their trademark aggressive sound to present fans with something unexpected. With their new single "Metal Soul," the band delivers an acoustic reinterpretation while also offering the first glimpse of a live acoustic album currently in the works.

Following their latest studio album, Imposing Truck, which combined classic thrash metal with technical musicianship and strong songwriting, Mass Crysis take a more stripped-back approach on their new release. By simplifying the guitar work, the band brings the songs' melodic character and emotional depth to the forefront, showcasing their songwriting from a different perspective beyond fast-paced riffs.

Rather than being a one-off experiment, "Metal Soul" serves as the first preview of the band's upcoming live acoustic album, recorded during an intimate club performance. Preserving the natural atmosphere of the show, the recordings are said to present Mass Crysis' music in a more direct and unembellished form, free from elaborate studio production. Further details about the forthcoming album are expected to be revealed in the near future.

The release also marks the band's first recording issued through The Goatmancer Records since Imposing Truck. Through this ongoing partnership, Mass Crysis once again demonstrate their commitment to exploring new creative directions without turning their backs on their thrash metal roots.
