Midnight Prey Begins the Countdown to New Album Jenseitsritt
New Song "Torn Into Pieces"
German power trio Midnight Prey, known for blending hard rock, traditional heavy metal, and punk influences, is preparing to unleash its long-awaited new studio album, Jenseitsritt. The album will be released on September 25 via Dying Victims Productions on vinyl and CD. The band has also offered fans a substantial first taste of the record with the newly unveiled track "Torn Into Pieces."
Formed in Germany's Black Forest region in 2012 before relocating to Hamburg a few years later, Midnight Prey made a strong impression on the underground heavy metal scene with its debut full-length, Uncertain Times. After going on hiatus in 2020, the band returned in 2023 with the Black Cat / Sword and Shield EP, regaining its creative momentum and signaling that its comeback was here to stay.
As the band's second full-length album, Jenseitsritt builds on Midnight Prey's signature sound while embracing a more mature and atmospheric approach. Combining the melodic side of hard rock, the driving force of classic heavy metal, and the raw energy of punk, the album is expected to rank among the band's strongest efforts to date. Spanning seven tracks, the record aims to showcase the group's musical evolution by balancing melodic songwriting with high-energy passages.
The newly released "Torn Into Pieces" highlights Midnight Prey's crushing riffs, memorable melodies, and ability to channel the spirit of its live performances into the studio. The track also suggests that the creative momentum the band has found since its return continues throughout Jenseitsritt.
