Bristol-based instrumental trio MOTORIK ROAD TRIP have released the official music video for their new single ‘Xenolith’ while announcing their second full-length album, “Perceptions from a Dark Earth”. Rooted in heavy psych, stoner and doom, the eight-track album will arrive on November 27, 2026, via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records on CD and digital formats.

Recorded at Axe & Trap Studios in Somerset, UK, the album began to take shape when the band returned to the studio in the summer of 2025. Developed over six months, its eight tracks bring together psychedelic melodies, Eastern musical influences, and heavy stoner and doom riffs. Running for 44 minutes, the record unfolds through hypnotic grooves and expansive psychedelic passages, all within an instrumental framework.

The conceptual scope of “Perceptions from a Dark Earth” complements the band’s musical approach. Its themes range from organised mind control and acoustic levitation to interplanetary occultations, forming a narrative world that branches out in several directions. ‘Xenolith’ serves both as the album’s lead single and as one of its eight tracks.

Formed in Bristol in 2022, MOTORIK ROAD TRIP have shaped their instrumental sound through a range of heavy psych and progressive metal influences. Their reference points include the psychedelic atmospheres of MONKEY3, the riff-driven approach of KARMA TO BURN, the psychedelic intensity of SLIFT, and the progressive structures of ELDER.

The trio released their debut full-length album, “V”, in January 2025, having previously built their catalogue through self-released singles and EPs. The new album represents a further expansion of that approach, retaining the heavy riffs and hypnotic rhythms while making more room for psychedelic melodies and a broader range of musical influences.
