Mutation Unveils New Track From Debut Album
Swedish death metal outfit Mutation have emerged with the first single from their highly anticipated debut full-length. Titled “Pestilent Whore,” the track offers the first glimpse into the band's inaugural studio album, set for release later this year via Hells Headbangers.
Hailing from Stockholm, the band operates with an approach rooted in the most primitive and aggressive era of death metal. Initially formed around the shared musical vision of drummer S.N and guitarist K.L, Mutation expanded its lineup and began crafting its first recordings, quickly drawing attention within the underground scene. The group's 2023 demos, in particular, put them firmly on the radar of old-school death metal devotees, leading to a swift signing with Hells Headbangers.
Mutation's debut album, Esoteric Order of Debauchery, promises a harsh and unrestrained character centered on the aesthetics of early death metal. Rejecting modern production sensibilities, the band remains committed to the genre's roots through filthy guitar tones, relentless blast beats, and feral vocal performances.
The new record consists of short yet devastating compositions that prioritize instinctive aggression over technical showmanship. Rather than embracing the refined form death metal has developed over the years, Mutation aim to return to the genre's dark and chaotic origins.
A definitive release date, cover artwork, and track listing for Esoteric Order of Debauchery have yet to be revealed. Further details surrounding the album are expected to be announced in the near future.
