MY OWN WILL Play Their Final Card Ahead of New EP With “Rorschach”
Michigan-based deathcore/hardcore outfit MY OWN WILL have unveiled the final single from their upcoming EP Misery. Accompanied by an official music video, “Rorschach” once again showcases the band’s punishing and bleak sonic atmosphere in full force.
According to vocalist Dave Keoppen, the track takes aim at people who hide behind fabricated identities and seek validation by pretending to be something they are not. Lyrically, “Rorschach” adopts an unapologetically direct approach, revolving heavily around themes of hypocrisy and manipulation. The band considers the song to be one of the purest representations of the MY OWN WILL identity, both musically and conceptually.
The new EP Misery is scheduled for release on June 4 through a collaboration between Bleeding Art Collective and Blood Blast Distribution. On the production side, the involvement of Christian Donaldson — known for his work with major names across the death metal scene — immediately stands out. The record also marks the band’s first new material since their debut album Left To The Flies.
MY OWN WILL will also hit the road across the United States in support of the EP’s release. The run, dubbed the “Chaos & Misery Tour,” will feature labelmates NIGHTS OF MALICE as supporting acts. The tour routing stretches from New Jersey all the way down to Florida.
Hailing from Southeastern Michigan, the band previously shared stages with heavyweights such as Hatebreed, Cannibal Corpse, Nile, and Suffocation. Blending modern deathcore with slam-infused hardcore aggression, MY OWN WILL continue to build momentum through crushing groove structures and an intensely physical live presence.
