NARCOTIC WASTELAND, the band led by former NILE guitarist and vocalist Dallas Toler-Wade, have released a music video for their new single 'Fentanyl Zombie Apocalypse', which addresses the fentanyl epidemic. The band will hit the road in Europe this November alongside I AM MORBID, ATHEIST and CANCER, before heading out on a run of US dates in December with FILTH and KILLCROWN.

'Fentanyl Zombie Apocalypse' focuses on drug addiction and the devastating impact of fentanyl on society. Sometimes referred to in the media as the “zombie drug” because of its effects, fentanyl is at the centre of a song that seeks to raise public awareness of the crisis. The video combines the subject's dark reality with touches of tongue-in-cheek horror.

Dallas Toler-Wade explains the video's approach: “This song is about the growing fentanyl epidemic, now dubbed the 'Zombie Drug' by the media. We wanted the video to have a gritty look while keeping it somewhat light-hearted. The important thing is the message. We want to raise awareness and educate people about this horrible drug that is ruining people's lives and killing them very quickly.”

Musically, the track draws on fast-paced, technical death metal while reflecting the band's engagement with social issues. In an earlier statement accompanying the single's release, Toler-Wade singled out bassist Kenji Tsunami's contributions on bass and keyboards, while also praising drummer Austin Vicars' hard-hitting performance.

Featuring Toler-Wade alongside Austin Vicars on drums and Kenji Tsunami on bass, NARCOTIC WASTELAND will kick off the first leg of its European tour on November 21 in Drachten, the Netherlands. The run will also take the band to Germany, Denmark, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Switzerland. Further European dates are scheduled for December in Luxembourg, France and the United Kingdom.

The US leg begins on December 11 in Portage, Indiana, and concludes on December 20 in Albany, New York, with FILTH and KILLCROWN joining the band for the run.
