Richmond, Virginia-based death-doom band NIGHT HAG will release their second studio album, “Great Dismal Darkness,” on October 16, 2026, via Rotted Life Records. The album will be available on CD, vinyl, and cassette.

“Great Dismal Darkness” is not only the band’s first full-length since 2022’s “Phantasmal Scourge,” but also their first album recorded as a four-piece. Across seven tracks, the record brings together elements of death metal, doom metal, and sludge through a slower, denser, and heavier approach.

Formed in 2010, NIGHT HAG have built their discography through the “Insemination Rites of the Succubus” EP, split LPs with CRYPTIC BROOD and BURIAL, and the “Phantasmal Scourge” album. On their new record, the death-doom direction established on their previous releases is pushed into a denser and more suffocating sound.

The album’s first single, 'Effluvia Tendrils,' is now available. Featuring cover artwork by Form Terror Growth, “Great Dismal Darkness” consists of seven tracks.
