Toronto-based NUCLEARHAMMER will release “XAOS 333,” a three-track EP recorded in 2018 but never previously released, on September 25 through Iron Bonehead Productions. The release will be available on CD and 12" vinyl, and marks the band’s first new recording since 2023’s “Xaos Tenewas - Demo MMXXIII.”

For more than 20 years, NUCLEARHAMMER have forged their own path at the intersection of bestial metal and hypnotic black metal, and “XAOS 333” presents a denser and more experimental version of that approach. With the power electronics elements that stood out on 2014’s “Serpentine Hermetic Lucifer” now pushed into the background, the EP sees the band turning toward a more direct yet atmospheric assault.

Across the EP’s three tracks, guitars, reverberations, and rhythmic pulses bleed into one another, creating a sonic space with no clearly defined boundaries. The use of reverb, in particular, stands out not merely as a means of creating atmosphere, but as a fundamental tool for altering the direction and perception of the songs. As a result, NUCLEARHAMMER’s bestial black metal takes on a shape that is less a conventional wall of sound than a constantly shifting structure that draws the listener inward.

The first track to reveal this character is 'Sabbatic Wine & the Devil's Graal'. Running for 3:23, the song opens “XAOS 333,” followed by the 9:54 'Mother of Poisons' and the 4:09 'Vocus Magicae'.

Recorded by NUCLEARHAMMER in 2018, “XAOS 333” is finally emerging after spending years in the band’s archives. The EP will be released on September 25 through Iron Bonehead Productions on CD and 12" vinyl.
