Sacramento funeral doom duo OROMET has made its self-titled debut full-length available on CD and vinyl formats for the first time. Previously released only on cassette and digital platforms, the album has now returned to physical shelves through a joint effort between Hypaethral Records and Transylvanian Recordings.

Originally released in 2023, the album quickly drew attention within funeral doom circles and earned positive acclaim among followers of the genre. Conceived by founding members Dan Aguilar and Patrick Hills, the project was initially envisioned as a studio-only endeavor, but the response to the record ultimately led the band to bring its material to the live stage.

Placing melody at the core of its compositions, OROMET blends traditional funeral doom conventions with atmospheric structures and expansive layers of sound. Majestic guitar harmonies built upon crushing riffs, coupled with deep vocal performances, are widely regarded as defining elements that set the band apart from many of its contemporaries within the genre.

The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Patrick Hills at Earthtone Recording Company in Sacramento. Visual design and layout duties were handled by Dan Aguilar. Inspired by the work of fantasy artist Ted Nasmith, the album artwork also takes on greater prominence in these physical editions, allowing its visual dimension to be appreciated on a larger scale.

Consisting of three tracks — “Familiar Spirits,” “Diluvium,” and “Alpenglow” — the album is now available once again through limited CD and colored vinyl pressings. The release is widely viewed as an important milestone in the band’s career to date.

Meanwhile, OROMET is preparing to support the album with a series of live performances in Portland, Pe Ell, and Sacramento in the coming months.
