Canadian modern metal band OSYRON have released their new single, ‘Telos’, which explores the struggle to reclaim one’s identity and sense of purpose in the face of external forces such as societal pressure, institutions, manipulation and addiction. The track opens the band’s fifth studio album, “Osyron”, due out on November 27, 2026, via Distortion Music Group (DMG) – Powered by Reigning Phoenix Music, and establishes the central ideas underpinning the record.

In the lyrics to ‘Telos’, OSYRON focus on the moment when people recognise the cycle they have fallen into after allowing external forces to dictate the course of their lives, and their subsequent efforts to reclaim their identity, agency and self-respect. According to the band, the song speaks to those who want to break free from the limitations imposed by their circumstances, pursue their dreams and define their own purpose in life.

The title telos comes from Ancient Greek, where it refers to an ultimate purpose or end goal. This concept shapes not only the single’s lyrics but also the overarching theme of the forthcoming album. “Osyron” aims to tell a story about overcoming adversity, defining one’s purpose and moving forward by learning from life’s experiences.

Musically, ‘Telos’ combines forceful rhythmic passages with powerful melodic shifts. The contrast between the track’s intensity and its melodic sections reflects the direction of OSYRON’s modern metal sound on the new album, which blends clean vocals with contrasting vocal styles.

Formed in 2012, OSYRON feature vocalist Reed Alton, guitarists Krzysztof Stalmach and Bobby Harley, bassist Tyler Corbett, and drummer Cody Anstey. Their previous album, “Momentous”, was released in November 2022. Three of its singles — ‘Dominion Day’, ‘Beyond the Sun’ and ‘Anunnaki’ — featured on Spotify’s All New Metal playlist for more than four weeks, while ‘The Deafening’, featuring Stu Block and Percival Schuttenbach, was another standout track from the record.

OSYRON made their European festival debut at Rock Castle in the Czech Republic in 2023. The following year, they appeared at Masters of Rock alongside acts including JUDAS PRIEST, BRUCE DICKINSON, AVANTASIA and ACCEPT. With their forthcoming self-titled album, the band are preparing to enter the next chapter of their career.

“Osyron” is scheduled for release on November 27, 2026. The album is available for pre-order here, while ‘Telos’ can be streamed here.
