PSYCROPTIC Unleashes New Album Offensive
Australian technical death metal powerhouse PSYCROPTIC is preparing to release its long-awaited new studio album The Pulse Of Annihilation on July 17th via Metal Blade Records. Alongside the album announcement, the band has also unveiled the first single, “Gathering A Venomous Herd,” accompanied by an official video.
Having established themselves as one of the most consistent and sophisticated acts in the technical death metal scene over the course of more than two decades, PSYCROPTIC push the balance between aggression and groove-oriented songwriting into sharper focus on the new record. The evolution in guitarist Joe Haley’s compositional approach, in particular, reveals a band crafting a sound that feels more controlled yet simultaneously more destructive in this era. Breathing transitions and rhythmic dynamism sit alongside the band’s intricate riff architecture, forming the album’s core identity.
The dual-vocal format introduced on the band’s previous album remains intact here as well. Jason Peppiatt’s brutal vocal delivery merges with the razor-edged approach of ORIGIN vocalist Jason Keyser, adding a more hostile and layered atmosphere to the material. Meanwhile, the first single “Gathering A Venomous Herd” stands out with its relentless, high-tempo structure, combining the band’s technical intensity with a groove-driven flow.
Production duties for the album were once again handled by Joe Haley at Crawlspace Productions. David Haley’s precise and mechanical drumming performance emerges as one of the record’s defining elements, while the bass tones and razor-sharp guitar mix further reinforce the album’s dense sonic character. The cover artwork bears the signature of Belial Necroarts, known for previous collaborations with GAEREA and IN AETERNUM.

The Pulse Of Annihilation will feature the following tracks:
Ashes Of A New Dawn
Gathering A Venomous Herd
A Sword Of Me
No Time For The Weak
Our Pillars Fall
Annihilation Pulse
No Blade Of Grass
To Embrace This Curse
Forging The Crown
Following the album’s release, PSYCROPTIC will embark on an Australian tour alongside RIVERS OF NIHIL. The run will continue with a series of Japanese dates featuring THE ZENITH PASSAGE. Additional live performances are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
