PSYCROPTIC Unveils “Ashes Of A New Dawn” From Upcoming New Album

One of the notable names in the technical death metal scene, Psycroptic, has released the music video for their new single “Ashes Of A New Dawn” ahead of their upcoming album “The Pulse Of Annihilation”. The record will be released on July 17 via Metal Blade Records.
With this new track, the Tasmanian band once again showcases their signature approach to technical death metal. Featuring intricate guitar patterns, hard-hitting rhythmic shifts, and a dense atmosphere, “Ashes Of A New Dawn” reflects the aggressive yet controlled musical direction that defines Psycroptic’s latest era.
Bassist Todd Stern spoke about the song’s special place within the band’s catalogue, stating that it creates strong visual imagery for the listener and that its calm opening quickly transforms into a high-speed assault. According to Stern, the track maintains the band’s trademark intensity while also carrying a more energetic and fun character.
Vocalist Jason Peppiatt explained that “Ashes Of A New Dawn” is lyrically connected to the track “Ashes Of Our Empire” from the band’s previous album “Divine Council”. Musically, he highlighted that the song strongly represents guitarist and songwriter Joe Haley’s unique approach to riff construction.
“The Pulse Of Annihilation” stands out as a release that takes the experience and technical mastery Psycroptic have built throughout their more than two-decade career to another level. The band continues to evolve their vision of technical death metal by shaping their complex compositions with more balanced arrangements, powerful transitions, and more defined atmospheric elements.
The album features the powerful vocals of Jason Peppiatt alongside contributions from Jason Keyser. The two vocalists bring contrasting styles to the record, adding a new dynamic dimension to Psycroptic’s dense instrumental foundation.
Ahead of the album’s release, the band will premiere the full record on YouTube on July 16 and take part in a live chat with fans during the event. In addition, Psycroptic have announced a series of shows supporting the album’s release, including Australian dates with Rivers Of Nihil, followed by performances in Japan alongside The Zenith Passage.
