Finnish old-school metal trio Rapid have unveiled another preview from their long-awaited debut album. The track “Moonless Night” has arrived via NoCleanSinging, marking the second single released ahead of the band’s debut full-length Enter the Realm of Fire, due out on August 21 via Dying Victims Productions.

With their 2022 mini-album Blackstar Oppression Regime, Rapid first drew attention by forging a distinct identity out of the raw intensity of hardcore punk, the relentless momentum of speed metal, and the dark atmosphere of early black metal. The Finnish power trio quickly gained traction in the underground scene thanks to a sound that balanced aggression with a strong melodic sensibility.

The new album Enter the Realm of Fire signals a clear step forward from that foundation. Shaped by the band’s long developmental process, it leans into a more mature, cohesive, and narratively dense structure. In terms of songwriting, classic heavy metal roots intersect more distinctly with early extreme metal influences, resulting in compositions that feel more fluid, focused, and character-driven.

Bassist Vincent Revenge’s vocal performance stands out as a key element of this evolution. His delivery has become both clearer and grittier, taking on the role of a narrator guiding the album’s dark storytelling. In particular, the closing track of the album emerges as one of the most intense expressions of its theatrical and grotesque atmosphere.

“Moonless Night” serves as a strong representation of this overall direction. The track retains Rapid’s raw energy while clearly demonstrating a shift toward a more refined compositional approach.

The album’s tracklist further highlights the band’s broad creative range, with titles such as “Witchcraft of Horror,” “Necromantic Warriors,” “Black Poison,” and “Beyond the Gates of the Rapid Flames” underscoring the dark, concept-driven nature of Enter the Realm of Fire.
