SAGENBRINGER and Guests Call for Humanity and Tolerance with ‘Schrei nach Liebe’
Metal Musicians Unite Against the Far Right
SAGENBRINGER have joined forces with a host of musicians to record a new version of ‘Schrei nach Liebe’, the song by DIE ÄRZTE released in the 1990s and known for its anti-far-right message. The collaboration features SOULBOUND, PINHEAD, DELIVER THE GALAXY, MYTHEMIA, ENTORIA, ARGOROK and Tom Seyfahrt, delivering a message of humanity, tolerance, openness and solidarity.
Bringing together musicians from different bands, the project revisits the song’s stance against social exclusion and far-right ideology in a contemporary context. SAGENBRINGER emphasise the importance of standing up for human rights and tolerance, arguing that those who reject an open and inclusive society must not be allowed to go unchallenged.
The participating musicians have also shared their personal and social connections to the song. PINHEAD vocalist Ilja John Lappin explained that he came to Germany at the age of nine and has at least some understanding of what it means to be perceived as a foreigner. Noting that PINHEAD’s work also addresses identity, social pressure and the struggle to remain true to oneself, Lappin sees the fact that a song more than 30 years old remains so relevant today as reason enough to take part in this new version.
Johnny of SOULBOUND, meanwhile, linked his involvement to his family’s history. His grandparents experienced firsthand the consequences of exclusion, inhumanity and an authoritarian system. He rejected the assumption that democracy can simply be taken for granted. With far-right and human rights-denying views gaining ground once again, Johnny stressed the need to stand up for people’s rights and dignity rather than remain silent.
Tom Seyfahrt also voiced his concerns about the political direction Germany is taking, calling for a firm response to the resurgence of far-right ideology. Members of ARGOROK noted that, despite differing views within the band, they agree that extremist ideologies have no place in healthy public debate. The band’s participation also brings a folk metal interpretation to the project, offering a different musical approach to the song.

Following the release of their “Sagendarium” EP on 11 September, the single arrives ahead of SAGENBRINGER’s Zwischen den Welten Epilog tour in 2027. The six-date German tour will run as follows:
